About Us

SPL Property Management LLP was formed in 2009 by director Scott Littlefield. With a background in property development and more specifically  in building blocks of flats from the ground up Scott has a detailed knowledge of the sector with transferable skills into building maintenance.

Owning a flat can mean different things to different people, with some being a place of comfort, sanctuary and relaxation and others an investment or source of rental income. Combining those dynamics in a community living atmosphere is not without its challenges and we here at SPL are vastly experienced to deal with any situation that can occur. We have seen it all.

Whatever owning a flat means to you it will probably be one of your largest investments and we are here to ensure that that investment is protected for leaseholders and freeholders alike. Well maintained buildings with short, mid and long-term maintenance plans, sufficient reserve funds, full legal compliance and reporting will always maintain their value more than poorly managed buildings.

We continue to expand through recommendation and referral and have gained a reputation for honesty and transparency coupled with good old-fashioned hard work. Our three offices in Poole, Southampton and Weymouth mean we are well placed to cover a large area of the South and South Coast. It may be the case that you are managing a property yourself on a “Right to Manage” basis and worried about the ever increasing legislation and liability, or you may just feel the need for a change of agent. Whatever your reasons we are sure to be able to help.

Our staff are most treasured, and we would be nothing without them. They are the key to our success and here at SPL we invest heavily in their training and development. Some have come to us with some previous experience and some that join as apprentices.

All of our team study for varying levels of IRPM (Institute of Residential Property Management) and willingly attend courses and seminars in order they are kept abreast of the ever-changing legislation. The management of leasehold property is a complex business, requiring structure and a knowledge of statutory requirements for the numerous pieces of legislation and these training programs are a minimum requirement of our staff. We have warmly adopted the RICS Service Charge Code and are full members of ARMA.

All of our property managers are members of the Institute of Residential Property Management and have either completed, or working towards their professional qualifications. Our apprentices join us through the government Housing and Property Management Apprenticeships where they begin working towards their Associate membership of the IRPM. We then encourage and support our staff to gain further skills and qualifications to ensure we can provide the best property management service.

We are corporate members of the Association of Residential Managing Agents, the trade body covering property management. In being a corporate member we have demonstrated compliance with over 160 industry standards and are audited every three years. In the absence of any formal government regulation of managing agents this gives our clients the peace of mind that we are acting in accordance with legislation and best practice.

Our Head of Property Management, Emily Gray, is an associate member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, ensuring that the RICS Service Charge Code runs through everything we do.

We are voluntary members of The Property Redress Scheme, an independent adjudicator of any complaints over and above our own robust complaint’s procedures.
